Virtual Monthly Meeting!

Connecting with Au Pairs from California, Colorado, North Carolina, Missouri, Ohio, Alabama, and Minnesota!

Due to the unprecedented time going on worldwide with the COVID-19, Agent Au Pair is following the US Government’s advice and practicing safe social distancing. This means all Au Pair monthly meetings are being conducted via video calls at this moment. It was our first meeting since the quarantine went into effect, so I thought that it would be very helpful for me to address the importance of the current situation, listen to the Au Pairs’ concerns, how they are feeling and to convey some kind of tranquility.

We talked about how important it is to stay positive, to be grateful for what we have, and to remain calm for our own good. For the sake of our families that are far away and are worried about us, and for the host families’ safety as well. We also mentioned the importance of not making any rash decisions and to trust that right now the best thing to do is to stay at home and follow the US Government’s advice, the household guide rules and be mindful of the host family’s requests.

It was a good meeting where Au Pairs could express how they are feeling, how they are dealing with this situation, relate to the other au pairs, and see that they are not alone.

We know that each and every Au Pair came here with a purpose and this experience might not be going the way that they expected it to be. Some Au Pairs are having a heavier workload, had to cancel vacations, are missing their families tremendously, and some cannot even go back to their home country, however, they all understand that this is a unique and exceptional situation and that at the end of the day, we are all in this together.

"During the meeting, I could share my experience with other Au Pairs that are living and struggling with the same situations as I am. My LCC has been really supportive and empathetic. Having the meeting was really good!"
