Au Pair Training School
Agent Au Pair requires that all of our au pairs attend a comprehensive Au Pair Training School and Orientation Program before being placed with their host families. The purpose of this program is to educate au pairs on child development and safety and ensure that they have an understanding of the responsibilities that come with being an au pair for an American family.
Agent Au Pair’s Au Pair Training School's staff conduct lectures, discussions, activities and hands-on childcare training during this time. We are the ONLY au pair agency that conducts our training course on the West Coast.
The Au Pair School includes training on the following:
- Roles and responsibilities of an au pair
- In depth Child Development and Safety courses for:
- Newborns to 12 months
- Age 12 months to 24 months
- Ages 2 to 5

Au Pairs spend four days in downtown San Francisco. They attend sessions that provide detailed information on the areas of child safety, behavior and development. The school is a great way for au pairs to ask questions in a comfortable environment. It’s also a great way for au pairs to meet one another and often stay in touch once they go to their host families.
